XOS SA01 Recall 23V760: Parking Brake May Fail, Risking Rollaway

NHTSA campaign 23V760, reported November 10, 2023, 242 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2022 Xos SV05 and 2021 SA01 vehicles may have bolts and brackets that connect hardware to the electronic parking brake system loosen over time. If this happens, the parking brake can fail.

A parking brake failure can cause the vehicle to roll away, especially if it is not in park with the manual parking brake engaged. A rollaway increases the risk of a crash. Until the repair is done, always put the vehicle in park and engage the manual parking brake when parking.

Dealers will replace the affected hardware and update the vehicle software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed January 8, 2024. To check whether your vehicle is affected, enter your VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup site or contact Xos customer service at 1-818-316-1890, referencing recall REC 003-23.
