What this recall means for you
Certain 2022-2023 Hino medium-duty trucks equipped with a 2500 series automatic transmission have a shift selector that shows a Park 'P' position, even though the transmission has no mechanical park mechanism to hold the vehicle. Setting the selector to Park does not lock the drivetrain.
If the shift selector is placed in Park without the parking brake applied, the vehicle may roll away, which increases the risk of a crash.
Authorized Hino dealers will inspect the shift selector and replace it as necessary, at no charge to the owner. Owners may also contact Hino customer service at (248) 699-9300. Always apply the parking brake when parking, and check your VIN for open recalls.
