Volkswagen ID.4 Recall 23V750: Roof sunshade may burn easily, raising fire injury risk

NHTSA campaign 23V750, reported December 7, 2023, 24,025 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 and 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles have an interior sunshade for the panoramic glass roof that may not be sufficiently fire retardant. The fabric does not fully meet federal flammability standards for interior materials.

If a fire occurs inside the vehicle, non-fire-retardant fabric could help fuel the fire, which increases the risk of injury to occupants.

Dealers will apply flame retardant to the sunshade fabric at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed December 15, 2023. You can contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298, referencing recall number 60G3, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
