Lucid Air Recall 23V708: Rear seat heaters may overheat, risking burns

NHTSA campaign 23V708, reported October 19, 2023, 1,267 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 and 2023 Lucid Air vehicles have a defect in the rear seat heater and cooler system. Under certain conditions, the temperature monitoring for the rear seat heaters can stop working, so the rear seats may overheat.

Overheated rear seats can increase the risk of a burn injury to occupants. Owners should be aware of this risk, particularly when rear seat heating is in use.

Lucid has released an over-the-air software update that fixes the problem, and the update is free of charge. Owners can call Lucid customer service at 1-888-99-LUCID (1-888-995-8243) for help. Owner notification letters were mailed December 11, 2023. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
