Mack Anthem (An) Recall 23V691: Stability Control May Fail, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V691, reported October 13, 2023, 13 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software programming error may cause the electronic stability control (ESC) system to be inoperative. ESC helps the driver keep control of the vehicle during skids and loss of traction, so when it is not working, the risk of a crash increases.

If you own a affected vehicle, dealers will reprogram the control unit software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 3, 2023. You can also contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177 and reference recall number SC0450.

Do not rely on your vehicle's ESC until the repair is complete, and check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your truck is included.
