What this recall means for you
The rearview camera wiring harness may have a manufacturing error that can cause the camera to display a blue image on the SYNC screen when the vehicle is in reverse. When this happens, the camera does not properly show what is behind the vehicle, which reduces rear visibility and raises the risk of a crash.
An authorized Ford dealer will inspect the rearview camera wire harness and repair any loose splices at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed November 2, 2023. If you have questions, you can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
You can also check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls, and if your 2023 Explorer is affected, schedule the free repair with a dealer as soon as possible.
