Brinkley RV Model G Recall 23V664: Undersized Wire Can Overheat and Cause a Fire

NHTSA campaign 23V664, reported September 29, 2023, 143 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024 fifth wheel toy haulers have a power control system that was built with 10-gauge wire where 6-gauge wire was required. The undersized wire can overheat, which raises the risk of a fire.

A fire in an RV can spread quickly and cause serious property damage and injury. If you own an affected vehicle, stop relying on the power control system until it has been checked, and do not ignore warning signs such as burning smells, discoloration, or unusual heat near the electrical components.

The repair is free. Dealers will replace the power control system at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 16, 2023. You can contact Brinkley customer service at 1-574-501-4280, referencing recall number PCI-2023-01. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
