Coachmen Prism Recall 23V659: Incorrect Seat Belt Count on Label Could Lead to Overloading

NHTSA campaign 23V659, reported September 29, 2023, 370 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The federal certification label in these vehicles may list the wrong number of seat belts. Because the label is incorrect, an owner could believe the vehicle can carry more occupants than it is designed for, which could lead to an overloaded vehicle.

An overloaded vehicle has a higher risk of being involved in a crash. Owners should not rely on the label for the seating capacity and should check the vehicle's actual seating before carrying passengers.

Dealers will provide corrected labels free of charge. Owners can contact Forest River Customer Service and Coachmen Concord & Prism at 1-574-825-8602, referencing recall number 51-1682. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
