What this recall means for you
The steering column shaft pinch bolt on certain Autocar trucks may not have been properly secured during assembly. If the bolt is not tight, the steering column can separate or slip, which can cause a sudden loss of steering control.
A sudden loss of steering increases the risk of a crash, which can injure or kill the driver, passengers, and others on the road. Stop driving the vehicle if you notice unusual steering looseness, play in the steering wheel, or grinding or clunking from the steering column.
The repair is free. Contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or visit an authorized dealer, where the steering column shaft pinch bolt will be replaced at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 27, 2023. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
