Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Recall 23V629: Front tow eye may detach while towing, risking crash

NHTSA campaign 23V629, reported September 11, 2023, 12,118 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The front tow eye on certain vehicles may not be threaded securely to the crossmember. Over time or under towing loads, it can come loose and detach.

If the tow eye detaches, the vehicle can separate from the tow truck during towing, which increases the risk of a crash or injury to people nearby.

An authorized dealer will inspect the front crossmember and replace it if needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed January 26, 2024. You can also check your VIN for open recalls and contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
