Ford E-350 Recall 23V625: Transmission May Not Hold in Park, Risking Rollaway

NHTSA campaign 23V625, reported September 8, 2023, 5,919 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The automatic transmission's park pawl may not fully engage the park gear because of a casting defect in the transmission. When the park pawl is not fully engaged, the vehicle can roll away even though it appears to be in park, which increases the risk of a crash.

If you own one of the affected vehicles, the repair is free. Authorized dealers will inspect the transmission and replace the transmission, or the valve body and extension housing, as necessary, at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 16, 2024. You can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and check your VIN for open recalls.
