- Problem
- Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2015-2023 GU and GR vehicles. The turn signals may be positioned incorrectly, reducing their visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
- Risk
- Low turn signal visibility may not alert other drivers to a turning vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Dealers will add additional turn signal lighting, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 25, 2024. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0448.

What this recall means for you
Certain Mack Granite trucks from model years 2015 through 2018 (GU and GR models) may have turn signals positioned incorrectly, which reduces how visible they are to other drivers. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices.
If other drivers cannot clearly see that your truck is turning, they may not react in time, which increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will add additional turn signal lighting to affected vehicles at no cost to you. Owner letters were mailed September 25, 2024. You can contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177 and reference recall SC0448, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
