Alliance RV Paradigm Recall 23V569: Trailer Brakes May Fail to Engage When Trailer Detaches

NHTSA campaign 23V569, reported August 10, 2023, 60 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The breakaway switch on certain travel trailers may be wired incorrectly. If the trailer separates from the towing vehicle, the emergency brake may not activate as it should.

This matters because a trailer that detaches without its brakes engaging can roll freely and cause a crash, putting other drivers and people nearby at greater risk.

The repair is free at an authorized dealer, who will rewire the breakaway cable. Owners can contact Alliance RV customer service at 1-574-218-7165, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
