NHTSA campaign 23V536, reported July 31, 2023, 13 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Rosenbauer fire and emergency vehicles equipped with Warn Industries VR EVO winches use a wireless handheld remote. Water can enter the remote and corrode its circuit board, which can cause the winch to operate unintentionally.

An unexpectedly operating winch increases the risk of injury. Owners should check their vehicle's VIN for open recalls and contact Rosenbauer customer service at 1-651-462-1000 for instructions. The remedy is free: Rosenbauer will provide instructions for inspecting the remote for corrosion, disabling the wireless function, and ordering a new wired remote if necessary.
