Chinook Bayside Recall 23V530: Fuel Hose Clamp May Leak Gasoline, Creating Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V530, reported July 28, 2023, 31 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020-2024 Chinook Bayside motorhomes with Cummins Onan QG 2800i or QG 2800i EVAP generator sets may have a fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and the Injection Pump Module that does not have adequate clamp force. This could allow gasoline to leak.

A gasoline leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and have their generator checked promptly.

Cummins dealers will inspect the fuel hose and clamps and replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owners can contact Chinook customer service at 1-574-584-3756 for more information, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
