Porsche Cayenne Recall 23V527: Rear hazard and parking lights may not turn on

NHTSA campaign 23V527, reported July 27, 2023, 2,934 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2024 Porsche Cayenne models, the rear hazard warning lights and parking lights may fail to illuminate if they are activated within 10 seconds after the vehicle is turned off. The problem comes from the software that controls the vehicle's lighting, and the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps.

When these lights do not come on, other drivers may have a harder time seeing your vehicle, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Porsche will have dealers update the gateway control unit software at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 26, 2023. You can contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
