Volvo VNL Recall 23V511: Windshield wiper motor may fail, reducing visibility

NHTSA campaign 23V511, reported July 24, 2023, 55,012 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The windshield wiper motor gears in certain Volvo trucks may wear out early, causing the wiper motor to fail and the wipers to stop working.

Inoperative windshield wipers can reduce your view of the road in rain, snow, or spray from other vehicles, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and get the repair scheduled promptly.

Authorized Volvo dealers will replace the windshield wiper motor assembly free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 1, 2023. You can contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
