Kidron Refrigerated Trailer Recall 23V492: Trailer Tires May Lose Pressure Above 45 mph

NHTSA campaign 23V492, reported July 17, 2023, 147 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022-2023 Kidron refrigerated trailers equipped with the Tire Pilot Plus tire pressure regulation system may lose air pressure in all eight tires while being driven faster than 45 mph. Loss of tire pressure can cause the trailer to become unstable or hard to control, and can lead to tire tread separation, both of which increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy is a free replacement and reactivation of the Tire Pilot Plus system controller, to be performed by STE Hackney together with the equipment manufacturer. Owner notification letters were mailed February 22, 2024. If you have questions, contact STE Hackney customer service at 1-252-946-6521.

If you own or operate one of these trailers, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls and contact an authorized dealer to schedule the repair at no cost.
