- Component
- EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TURN SIGNAL
- Problem
- Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2023-2024 H3-45 and 2022-2024 H3-45 VIP vehicles. The right front turn signal light may fail when the turn signal or hazard warning lights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
- Risk
- An inoperative front turn signal may not notify other drivers of a turning vehicle, while inoperative hazard warning lights reduce the vehicle visibility to other drivers, both increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy
- Prevost will install enhanced headlight wiring that includes additional resistors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR23-19.
- Notes
- Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
What this recall means for you
The right front turn signal light may fail when the turn signal or hazard warning lights are turned on. When this happens, the vehicle does not meet federal lighting requirements. A non-working front turn signal may fail to warn other drivers that you are turning, and non-working hazard lights make your vehicle harder for others to see. Both problems raise the risk of a crash.
The remedy is free. Prevost will install enhanced headlight wiring that includes additional resistors. Owners who have not yet had the repair can contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Owner notification letters were mailed August 30, 2023.
Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls, and have the repair done at an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
