Mack LR Recall 23V465: Loose Wiper Arm Nuts Can Disable Windshield Wipers

NHTSA campaign 23V465, reported July 3, 2023, 204 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain garbage trucks are affected because the nuts that hold the windshield wiper arms in place may be loose or stripped. When this happens, the wipers can stop working properly.

If the windshield wipers fail, your visibility can be reduced, which raises the risk of a crash, especially in rain, snow, or other poor weather.

An authorized dealer will inspect the wiper arm retention nuts, tighten them, and replace the wiper arms if needed. The repair is free of charge. You can also contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
