Mobility Ventures MV-1 Recall 23V461: Stability warning light may fail to show a fault, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 23V461, reported June 30, 2023, 525 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Mobility Ventures is recalling certain 2015 and 2016 MV-1 vehicles because the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) malfunction indicator warning light may not come on to show a problem with the ESC system. The vehicles also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126 for electronic stability control systems.

When the ESC warning light does not illuminate during an electronic stability control event, you may not be alerted to a fault in the system that helps keep the vehicle stable during skids or loss of control. This can increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free. Authorized dealers will update the electronic brake control module (EBCM) software at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 28, 2023. You can also contact Mobility Ventures customer service at 1-877-681-3678, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
