Hino NE7A Recall 23V457: Front Spring U-Bolts May Break, Causing Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 23V457, reported June 29, 2023, 64 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 Hino NE7A, NJ7A, and NV7A trucks may have front axle U-bolts that were over-tightened during assembly. These U-bolts secure the front leaf spring assembly to the axle, and over-tightening can cause them to break and detach.

If a U-bolt breaks, the vehicle may lose proper handling and control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should treat this as a safety issue and have their vehicle inspected and repaired as soon as possible.

Dealers will replace the front axle U-bolts and upper seats at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2023. You can contact Hino customer service at 1-248-699-9390 and reference recall M0420. You can also check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
