Grand Design Momentum Recall 23V455: Wheel Can Detach From Trailer Axle, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V455, reported June 29, 2023, 1,366 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A grease fitting on certain trailer axles may not be tightened properly. Over time it can separate and cause damage to the axle, which could lead to a wheel coming off while the trailer is in use.

A detached wheel increases the risk of a crash. If you own an affected trailer, have an authorized dealer inspect the grease fittings and repair or replace them as needed. The repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 28, 2023. You can also contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679 with questions, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
