Lion Lionc Recall 23V452: Loose Hardware Can Cause Short Circuit and Loss of Power

NHTSA campaign 23V452, reported June 28, 2023, 65 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2025 Lion Lionc school buses may have loose hardware inside the high-voltage distribution unit (HVDU) or direct current junction box (DCJB) enclosures. The loose hardware can contact electrical terminals and cause a short circuit.

A short circuit can shut down the high-voltage circuit, which may cause a loss of steering assistance or drive power and reduce braking power. This raises the risk of a crash.

Lion technicians will replace the hardware at no cost to owners. Owners can contact Lion customer service at 1-855-546-6706, and should check their vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
