Altec Aerial Device Recall 23V438: Outlet May Lack Shock Protection, Risking Injury or Fire

NHTSA campaign 23V438, reported June 22, 2023, 18 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

This recall covers certain 2019-2022 Altec AT335 aerial device vehicles. An inverter-powered outlet at the aerial boom tip may have been installed without ground-fault interrupter (GFCI) protection.

An outlet without GFCI protection may fail to shut off electrical power when a ground fault occurs. That failure increases the risk of injury or fire.

Authorized dealers will inspect the outlet and install a GFCI outlet where needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 25, 2023. You can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 (Altec recall number CSN 3091), and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
