What this recall means for you
Certain 2023 Airstream Bambi trailers have a Cargo Carrying Capacity label that overstates how much the freshwater tank can hold. Because the label is incorrect, the vehicle could be unintentionally loaded beyond its safe limit. The notice states that this does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110, which covers tire selection and rims.
An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash. Owners should not rely on the printed cargo capacity figure until the label is corrected, and should load conservatively.
Airstream will mail corrected labels free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 26, 2023. To request a replacement label, contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
