Altec TG-124S Recall 23V417: Loose Axle U-Bolts Can Detach and Cause Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 23V417, reported June 8, 2023, 153 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022-2023 TG-124S units have axle U-bolts that may not be tightened properly. The U-bolts that secure the leaf springs to the axle can loosen and detach from the axle and suspension.

If a U-bolt detaches, the vehicle can lose handling and control, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this risk and have the issue checked promptly.

Altec Industries will inspect and tighten the U-bolt nuts free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 4, 2023. You can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 and reference recall number CSN 3086. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
