Pierce Ladder And Platform Recall 23V407: Cracked Stabilizer Beams May Cause Ladder Instability

NHTSA campaign 23V407, reported June 6, 2023, 5 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain aerial ladder and platform fire trucks built between 2016 and 2022 may have galvanized stabilizer beams that can develop cracks. The problem affects Ascendant 107-foot aerials and 110-foot platforms mounted on single rear axle Enforcer chassis.

Cracks in the stabilizer beams can make the vehicle unstable when the aerial ladder or platform is extended. This instability raises the risk of injury to the operators and others working on or near the apparatus.

Owners should contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723 and check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls. Authorized dealers will inspect the galvanized stabilizer beams and replace them as necessary, free of charge.
