PJ Trailers LD Recall 23V319: Trailer Coupler Can Loosen and Separate From Tow Vehicle

NHTSA campaign 23V319, reported May 4, 2023, 4,905 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain trailers equipped with a Demco EZ Latch Gooseneck Coupler may have coupler mounting bolts that loosen over time. When this happens, the coupler can separate from the inner tube.

If the coupler separates, the trailer can disconnect from the tow vehicle while in use, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should check whether their trailer is included in this recall.

Dealers will replace the couplers free of charge. You can also contact PJ Trailers customer service at 1-866-752-8781 for more information, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
