Volvo VNR Recall 23V280: Coolant Line May Cause Battery Short and Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V280, reported April 19, 2023, 125 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020-2024 VNR Electric trucks may have a coolant line in the high voltage battery pack that is not fully seated and locked. This can allow coolant to be lost and can cause an electrical short circuit inside the battery.

A battery short circuit increases the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and avoid delaying the repair.

Volvo Trucks will work with battery manufacturer Akasol to inspect and replace the batteries as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 9, 2023.
