Blue Bird ALL American School Bus Recall 23V276: School Bus May Reverse Faster Than Expected Downhill

What this recall means for you

Certain 2018-2021 Blue Bird All American and Vision school buses with PowerDrive 7000 electric drive systems may have a problem with the System Control Module (SCM). The anti-rollback feature can activate when the bus is in reverse, pointing downhill, and the brake pedal is not applied, causing the bus to reverse faster than expected.

A bus reversing faster than expected can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have their vehicle checked as soon as possible.

The remedy is free: an authorized dealer will update the SCM software calibration at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 10, 2023. Problem
Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2018-2021 All American and Vision School Buses, equipped with PowerDrive 7000 electric drive systems. The System Control Module (SCM) may activate the anti-rollback feature, causing the vehicle to reverse faster than expected when the vehicle is in reverse and pointing downhill with the brake pedal not applied.
Risk
