Prevost X3-45 Commuter Recall 23V271: Loose Bus Seat Bolts Could Let Seat Cushions Detach

NHTSA campaign 23V271, reported April 17, 2023, 280 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2023 Prevost X3-45 Commuter buses may have foldable passenger seat cushion bolts that are loose and could fall out. If that happens, the seat cushion can separate from the seat frame.

A detached seat cushion may not adequately restrain a passenger, which increases the risk of injury in a crash. Owners of affected buses should contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046 and reference recall number SR23-305. Owner notification letters were mailed June 7, 2023.

Prevost will add adhesive to the seat cushion bolts at no cost to the owner. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your bus is affected.
