RAM 1500 Recall 23V265: Engine May Stall Due to Fuel Mixture Software Fault

NHTSA campaign 23V265, reported April 13, 2023, 131,700 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The powertrain control module software in certain 2021 Ram 1500 trucks with the 5.7L eTorque engine can cause an incorrect fuel mixture in the engine. This can lead to the engine stalling while you are driving.

An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash, since you may lose power and control of the vehicle at an inconvenient or unsafe moment. If your truck is affected, the fix is a software update to the powertrain control module.

Dealers will update the powertrain control module calibration software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed April 27, 2023. You can also contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle needs the repair.
