What this recall means for you

Some 2004-2006 Ford Ranger trucks received replacement front passenger air bag inflators under an earlier recall, and those inflators may have been installed incorrectly. An incorrectly installed inflator may not properly inflate the passenger air bag.

If the passenger air bag does not inflate properly in a crash, the risk of injury to the front passenger increases. Owners should contact an authorized Ford dealer, where the inspection and reinstallation of the front passenger air bag inflator, as necessary, is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 5, 2023. You can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference Ford recall 23S08.
