Lucid Air Recall 23V110: Power Can Cut Out Suddenly, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V110, reported February 22, 2023, 886 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain electric vehicles have contact switches that transfer energy to the drive motors and can unexpectedly open. When this happens, power to the electric motors is cut off, so the vehicle loses drive power while in operation.

Losing drive power increases the risk of a crash. If you own an affected vehicle, contact Lucid customer service at 1-888-995-8243 or take it to an authorized Lucid Service Center. The remedy is free: the vehicle software will be updated and the contactor switches will be replaced where necessary.

Owner notification letters were mailed April 21, 2023. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is covered.
