Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Recall 23V080: Battery May Not Recharge, Risking Loss of Drive Power

NHTSA campaign 23V080, reported February 14, 2023, 8,413 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2019-2022 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid vehicles, the harness terminal that carries low-voltage power from the converter to the 12-volt battery can corrode and break. When this happens, the 12-volt battery cannot recharge.

A 12-volt battery that cannot recharge can cause a loss of drive power, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously. Subaru will replace the converter terminal mounting bracket, and if corrosion is found on the terminals, the 12-volt output harness and terminals will also be replaced. All repairs are free at an authorized Subaru dealer.
