IC Bus CE Recall 23V066: Roof panel joints may separate in a crash

NHTSA campaign 23V066, reported February 10, 2023, 115 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain school and transit buses were built with roof panels that may have insufficient joint strength. The joints that hold the roof panels together may not be strong enough, so a roof panel could separate during a crash.

A roof panel that separates in a crash increases the risk of injury to people on the bus. Owners should have their bus inspected and repaired as soon as possible.

The repair is free at an authorized dealer, which will add additional fasteners to secure the joints. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 3, 2023. You can also contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
