What this recall means for you
The right-front half-shaft on these vehicles may not be properly connected to the transmission. Over time, the shaft can separate from the transmission, which can cause a loss of drive power or allow the vehicle to roll away when it is in park. Either situation raises the risk of a crash.
The repair is free. An authorized dealer will replace the right-front half-shaft assembly at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 17, 2023. If you have questions, contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782.
To check whether your vehicle is affected, enter your VIN on NHTSA's recall lookup site or ask your dealer to check for open recalls. If a recall is open on your vehicle, schedule the free replacement as soon as possible.
