Allvac AVRB-18 Recall 23V020: Exhaust Silencer Can Crack and Fall Off, Creating Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 23V020, reported January 23, 2023, 51 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Vibration from the vacuum operations on these 2018-2021 AllVac AVRB-18 vehicles can cause the welds on the exhaust silencer to crack. Over time, the silencer can detach from the vehicle.

A detached exhaust silencer can land on the road and become a hazard to other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash. If you own one of these vehicles, have it inspected as soon as possible.

The repair is free. Gradall dealers will inspect the exhaust silencer, repair any cracked welds, reattach any detached silencer, and weld a C-shaped bracket from the silencer to the power frame. Direct-sales owners will receive instructions and parts at no cost. Owners who were not notified may contact Gradall customer service at 1-800-382-8302. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
