- Problem
- Lode-King Industries, Ltd. (Lode-King) is recalling certain 2016-2023 Lode King & Prestige SDE and SDF model steel step deck Semi-trailers equipped with a beavertail style ramp. The cargo securement winches located on the rear of the trailer may not be properly welded, causing the winch mount to fail.
- Risk
- A cargo winch mount failure can result in falling cargo creating a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
- Remedy
- Dealers will add the missing weld on the end of the winch frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 1, 2023. Owners may contact Lode-King/Prestige customer service at 1-866-797-0669 (toll free) or 1-204-325-4345.

What this recall means for you
Certain 2016-2023 Lode King and Prestige SDE and SDF steel step deck semi-trailers with a beavertail style ramp may have cargo securement winches on the rear of the trailer that were not properly welded. Over time, the winch mount can fail.
If the winch mount fails, cargo can fall from the trailer and create a road hazard, which increases the risk of a crash or injury to drivers and others on the road.
Dealers will add the missing weld to the end of the winch frame at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed February 1, 2023.
