What this recall means for you
The coupling plate on certain semi-trailers may deteriorate over time. This can cause the king pin to fail, allowing the trailer to separate from the tow vehicle.
A detached trailer cannot be controlled and may overturn or block the road, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should inspect the coupling plate and king pin for any damage before operating the trailer. If damage is found, do not drive the trailer until it has been repaired.
Authorized ABS service facilities will replace the coupling plates at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed March 2, 2023. For questions, contact ABS customer service at 819-879-6216, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
