Mazda MAZDA2 Recall 22V885: Headlights May Be Misaimed, Reducing Night Visibility

NHTSA campaign 22V885, reported November 30, 2022, 226 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2020-2021 Mazda2 vehicles are missing the caps that prevent headlight adjustment. Without them, the headlights can be improperly aimed, which does not meet federal lighting safety requirements.

Improperly adjusted headlights can reduce how far you can see ahead at night, which raises the risk of a crash. If you own one of these vehicles, be especially careful driving in the dark until the issue is fixed.

The repair is free. An authorized Mazda dealer will install the missing adjustment prevention caps at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 28, 2022. You can also check your VIN for open recalls and contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, Option 6 (owners in Puerto Rico can call (787) 620-7546).
