Honda Ridgeline Recall 22V867: Rearview camera may fail, reducing rear visibility

NHTSA campaign 22V867, reported November 23, 2022, 117,445 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Opening and closing the tailgate on certain 2017-2019 Honda Ridgeline vehicles may break the rearview camera wiring harness. When the harness breaks, the rearview camera can stop working.

An inoperative rearview camera reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this if they rely on the camera when backing up.

Dealers will replace the rearview camera wiring harness free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 31, 2023. You can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138, referencing recall number 6RW, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
