Midwest Fire All-Poly Series Recall 22V853: Transmission Software May Block Mode Shifts, Delaying Response

NHTSA campaign 22V853, reported November 18, 2022, 11 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2021 and 2022 All-Poly Series fire trucks equipped with a split-shaft transmission, the Class1 Es-Key multiplex system software may prevent the vehicle from shifting between road-to-pump and pump-to-road modes.

If the truck cannot change modes, emergency response may be delayed, which increases the risk of injury. Owners should not wait to act on this recall.

The remedy is free. Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company will provide the instructions and hardware needed to reprogram the multiplex system software. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on December 15, 2022. You can also contact Midwest's customer service at 1-800-344-2059. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your truck is affected.
