Coachmen Chaparral Lite Recall 22V813: Holding tanks can break loose in transit, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 22V813, reported October 31, 2022, 2,018 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain fifth-wheel RVs, the floating cross-member that holds the holding tanks may not have been installed correctly. If it fails to retain the tanks, a tank can become dislodged while the vehicle is moving, which increases the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected fifth wheel, an authorized dealer will inspect the cross-member and relocate it as needed. The repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 29, 2022. You can also contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-7101 and reference recall number 110-1561.

Whether or not you received a letter, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls and schedule the inspection with a dealer as soon as possible.
