- Problem

- Outriggers that are not set when loads are being lifted by the jib winch may cause the unit to tip, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy
- Altec will install a visual indication system to show when the outriggers are set or not set, and provide a new pre-operational inspection placard, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 16, 2022. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3030.

What this recall means for you
The material handling interlocking valve on certain aerial devices may lose power when the outriggers are not set. This can allow the jib winch to be operated while the outriggers are up, so a load being lifted may cause the unit to tip.
A tipping aerial device increases the risk of injury to operators and others nearby. Owners should check whether their vehicle is covered by this recall and make sure outriggers are fully set before any jib winch operation.
Altec will install a visual indication system showing whether the outriggers are set, and will provide a new pre-operational inspection placard, both free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 16, 2022. You can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 (Altec recall number CSN 3030), and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
