Thor Motor Coach Omni Recall 22V784: Wrong seat belt count on label may leave riders unbelted

NHTSA campaign 22V784, reported October 19, 2022, 69 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 motorhomes have an Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity label that lists more seat belts than the vehicle actually has. The label does not match the vehicle's real seating, so it does not meet the labeling requirements of a federal motor vehicle safety standard.

Because the label overstates the number of seat belts, occupants may be transported without an available seat belt for each seat. Riders without a belt face a higher risk of injury in a crash or sudden stop.

An authorized dealer will replace the label free of charge. Owners who have questions can call Thor Motor Coach customer service at 1-877-855-2867, quoting recall number RC000281. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.

Problem
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2023 Magnitude and Omni vehicles. The Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity (OCCC) Label states the incorrect number of seat belts, indicating that there are more seat belts available than there actually are. Risk
The incorrect seat belt information may result in occupants being transported without available seat belts, increasing their risk of injury.
