HD Trailer NON CDL Goosenecks Recall 22V777: Trailer Axle Weld Can Crack and Separate, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 22V777, reported October 14, 2022, 15 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 non-CDL gooseneck trailers fitted with Besser Pro 7000 lb tubular straight axles may have a weld joining the spindle to the main axle that was placed improperly. Over time this can lead to cracking or the axle separating from the spindle.

If the axle cracks or separates, the trailer can lose stable support while towed, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and get the trailer checked promptly.

An authorized dealer will inspect the axle serial numbers and replace the axles where needed, at no cost to you. HD Trailer's owner notification letters were mailed on February 21, 2023. You can also call HD Trailer customer service at 1-903-491-6759, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
