Mcneilus Zero Radius Recall 22V716: Weak Ejector Welds Can Let Cylinder Breach Truck Body

NHTSA campaign 22V716, reported September 23, 2022, 1,140 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The ejector welds on certain Zero Radius trucks may fail. When they do, pressure and force are placed on the hydraulic cylinder, which can push through the side of the truck body.

A hydraulic cylinder that penetrates the side of the truck body increases the risk of injury. Owners should take this seriously and not operate the affected truck until the repair has been completed.

The repair is free. McNeilus will either send service representatives to fix the vehicle or ship parts to the owner at no cost. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on November 21, 2022. You can contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
