Prevost X3-45 Commuter Recall 22V698: Wrong driver seat belt may not protect driver in crash

NHTSA campaign 22V698, reported September 19, 2022, 255 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2023 Prevost X3-45 Commuter motorcoaches have a Type 1 seat belt on the driver's seat instead of the required Type 2 seat belt. This means the vehicle does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, which covers occupant crash protection.

Because the incorrect seat belt may not adequately protect the driver during a crash, the risk of injury is increased. Owners should not wait to have this addressed.

Prevost will replace the driver's seat and seat belt at no cost. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
